What is Thread lifting? Thread lifting is a non-surgical facelift procedure. The thread lift procedure provides a lift to restore sagging and aging skin without adding more volume such as in dermal fillers. Therefore, a client can lift facial tissues without increasing the plumpness of their face. Thread lifting can also be used to enhance facial areas, such as the eyebrows. Thread lifting provides a more appealing eyebrow lift (aka “cat-eye,” or “fox-eye,” or “pony-tail eye”). It can also give lips a sharper border. Thread lifting is an alternative procedure to the more invasive surgical facelift and offers immediate results with less downtime than surgery. How is the Thread Lifting procedure done? Following a consultation, the facial area is numbed and the environment is sterilized. The targeted areas of the face are marked. The marked areas are lifted with absorbable threads placed under the skin. A thread is uniquely designed to anchor into the soft tissues beneath the skin to support the tissue. The client remains comfortable during the entire procedure. Over the next three months, the threads begin to dissolve as the body produces collagen (a protein that forms the body’s structural support) surrounding each thread. This collagen network provides a secondary more permanent lift to the tissues. Over time, threads placed in the tissues help produce more collagen, resulting in a longer-lasting lift. What are the threads made of? Luxefinity provides FDA-approved threads. They are made from plant sugars and starches and are biodegradable (absorbed by the body).
